Copyright notice
A copyright owner or authorized agent should provide a written notice containing:
- A physical or electronic signature of the authorized person.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed, or a representative list if one notice covers multiple works.
- Identification and precise location of the allegedly infringing material, including the relevant page URL, sufficient for it to be found.
- Your name and reliable contact details, such as postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Incomplete or inaccurate notices may delay review. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation can have legal consequences.
Counter-notification
If material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification, the affected provider may send a counter-notification identifying the material and its former location, including contact details and a physical or electronic signature. It should state under penalty of perjury that there is a good-faith belief the action resulted from mistake or misidentification and include consent to the jurisdiction and service-of-process statements required by applicable law.
Where legally appropriate, a valid counter-notification may be forwarded to the original claimant. Material may be restored after the statutory period unless the claimant reports filing an action seeking a court order.
Repeat infringement
In appropriate circumstances, accounts or access associated with repeat infringement may be restricted or terminated. We may also remove or disable access to material where a substantiated complaint or legal duty supports that action.
